Our unit is a very busy medical surgical unit with 85+ FTE's. We have high acuity patients. Work with the University of Miami as a teaching institution. I work with our nurses that are variable in educational levels. I mentor all the nurse's on the unit to bring additional knowledge to the bedside. I have started a Research Council, working on creating a pain management council. Looking at adopting a new nursing middle range theory to implement in our hospital.


Tasks & Responsibilities May Include

  • Translate nursing practice information between nurses and systems engineers, analysts, or designers, using object-oriented models or other techniques.
  • Use informatics science to design or implement health information technology applications for resolution of clinical or health care administrative problems.
  • Develop or implement policies or practices to ensure the privacy, confidentiality, or security of patient information.
  • Analyze and interpret patient, nursing, or information systems data to improve nursing services.
  • Identify, collect, record, or analyze data relevant to the nursing care of patients.
