A great day at work-which is everyday now that I run my own business- would involve filling jars with dried herbs and oils and setting them in the sun to infuse their healing properties into the oil. I use the strained oils and blend them along with other ingredients like shea butter, essential oils, etc. to create everything from deodorant to lotion. I blend clay, charcoal, dried herbs, and essential oils to make toothpowders that will replace chemical-laden tooth paste.

How Leaders Describe a Typical Day at Work
Each day is pretty similar in nature and then will vary based on my clients. I start each day by opening up the salon and checking the schedule to see what appointments are coming up that day. Then I'll take each client back to my salon room one by one and offer whichever waxing services they'd like (eyebrows, legs, underarms, etc.) during that appointment.
Tasks & Responsibilities May Include
- Sterilize equipment and clean work areas.
- Examine clients' skin, using magnifying lamps or visors when necessary, to evaluate skin condition and appearance.
- Cleanse clients' skin with water, creams, or lotions.
- Demonstrate how to clean and care for skin properly and recommend skin-care regimens.
- Select and apply cosmetic products, such as creams, lotions, and tonics.
