My path in life has been direct
1.
I grew up in Waterloo, Iowa.
2.
I come from a family of engineers—my father, older sister, and younger sister all studied engineering.
3.
I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from MIT and Cornell University respectively.
4.
After grad school, I moved to the Bay Area of California and started my career as an IC product engineer in the semiconductor industry.
5.
After three years, I joined a startup company that was working with innovative technology—after mergers and acquisitions, that startup eventually became part of my current company, Synopsys.
6.
I continued to build my career in the semiconductor industry and gain more experience in applications engineering and fabrication.
7.
In 2002, I joined Synopsys and have been here ever since—I’m currently leading a team as the senior manager of corporate applications engineering.
