Wrote an ice cream shop menu at age 15 but didn't identify it as a possible career path.
2.
Took a nutrition course in college and felt incredibly inspired, but Marquette didn't offer a major.
3.
Transferred to Cornell University where I studied nutritional and food science.
4.
Moved to San Francisco and took a job in client operations because I thought I should learn business.
5.
Was miserable at job and started volunteering at the Farmer's Market, which led me to pastry school.
6.
Started a business called Be.Baking while working at a bakery, then a restaurant.

Took job as Facebook pastry chef and made hundreds of desserts daily. Went home and made ice cream.

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You should look perfect and be nice.
How I responded:
I started doing what I loved and working hard, which sometimes meant getting dirty and doing things that weren't always "nice". I didn't have time to care about what I looked like or who liked me...that was when I fell in love with myself and began to blossom.
