5.
Then I fumbled around for a long time trying to decide what major I wanted to get a degree in.

Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You can do anything you want. Just don't work with kids. You won't make any money.
How I responded:
I overcame my Noise by telling my parents, "I'd rather be super happy at my job and not make a ton of money then make a lot of money and be miserable." Sometimes choosing what you love to do means making sacrifices. And that's okay!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was very, very lucky. My parents had saved my entire life to send me to college! I am the FIRST in my family to graduate from college and my parents are so very proud of me.
