Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

First I graduated from Los Alamitos High School.

  • 2.

Then I volunteered for a wonderful after-school program to discover...I love kids!

  • 3.

Then I applied for colleges! And I was accepted to CSULB.

  • 4.

Then I decided to be a Child Development Major and continued working with kids.

  • 5.

Then I fumbled around for a long time trying to decide what major I wanted to get a degree in.

  • 6.

Then I found myself at Project Access!

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Parents:

You can do anything you want. Just don't work with kids. You won't make any money.

  • How I responded:

I overcame my Noise by telling my parents, "I'd rather be super happy at my job and not make a ton of money then make a lot of money and be miserable." Sometimes choosing what you love to do means making sacrifices. And that's okay!
