Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
You won't like living in a big city if you grew up in Florida.
How I responded:
I overcame the "Noise" by realizing that you shouldn't be afraid to try new things or explore new places. It is normal to fear the unknown, but some of the best experiences in life happen when you try something new. I was uncertain about moving to New York City without knowing anyone, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made! It is great to experience and see how people live in different parts of the country and world.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I had to work in college in order to pay for some of my expenses. Learning to balance my school and work was difficult at first, but it helped me prepare for life after college. Also, learning to budget money in college is a must!
