Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
I heard that I should drop out after I didn't have my undergrad degree in 4-5 years. I heard 'you need to make money so work and forget about your college degree.'
How I responded:
As a first generation college student, I wanted to ensure that I achieved my degree to make my mom proud. I also hung out with friends that had some of the same goals and career paths that I had so it was friendly competition.
