My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I was very shy as a child, but my parents moved around a lot, which forced me out of my shell.
2.
I studied abroad in Spain while I was in college, and I got to travel and see different cultures.
3.
Both of those experiences made me very open and able to work with all kinds of people.
4.
I originally went to work for Yahoo (one of the "big guys").
5.
I decided to make the jump into the startup world, which was a huge risk.
6.
I think that taking that leap of faith paid off in the long run, and it got me to where I am today.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Teachers:
You're too timid.
How I responded:
I wasn't an introvert, but I definitely wasn't the person who was going to raise her hand in class, so I think that my shyness originally did hold me back. But moving around and having to adjust and make new friends periodically was very "sink or swim," and over time, it forced me to find my self-confidence.
