How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
I didn't go to college until I was 28 years old. I was a single mother of twin boys at this time. I was told that I could not go to college, by a family member, due to having children. I've always been the one to say oh yes I can.
How I responded:
I know that this may sound cliche, but if there is a will there is a way. My boys were very proud of me and I think that getting a degree set a great example for them. I have worked as a parole officer, an Adult Protective Services caseworker III, MHMR and managed a restaurant. All of the experience in different areas makes me a well rounded individuals well as contributes to my current profession. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from achieving the goals that you have set for yourself.
