Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Friends:

I was a single parent while attending school. The noise I heard came from others who felt I needed to spend more time with my child rather than pursuing my personal goals in school. My priorities were often questioned.

  • How I responded:

I dealt with adversaries and discouragement by socializing and becoming a workaholic. I sought to find my desires and passions within my work and dedicated myself to my studies. I decided to set my priorities aside and tried to be a role model for my children. My leading motivation was to provide and support my children in order for them to pursue their dreams and education.
