Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
I didn’t have a lot of that, everyone was very encouraging when I was becoming a nurse. Other than the voice in my head. I didn’t go out a lot when I was in school and that made me question if I was right for this position.
How I responded:
It does get challenging when you're trying to get into a program. First-year as a nurse sucks because learning so much, no room for error. Continue to study.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Since I'm the first one in my family to go to college and get a degree especially as a nurse, it's discouraging because coming from that situation it's like this position was meant for someone else. You have to overcome to break out those situations.
By following my mentor I found them very important.
