I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
Behavior issues in elementary school from being hyperactive. Was embarrassed by the teacher in front of the class. Found theater and singing and put my energy into that!
2.
Not making it into the BFA acting program at CSUF. Instead of dropping out or doing general theater, I found communications, got an internship and now have an actual job in the industry.
3.
Working in corporate events because it made more money—ended awfully. Found my way back to casting and thrive in what I love...with a rate similar to the events job.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
Do a job that makes you a lot of money and pays the bills.
How I responded:
Follow your passion. If you do what you love, you will excel and the money will come. In the beginning, to pay the bills with a low-paying job you love, pick up a second job until you can afford your lifestyle with the job you love.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I have a learning disability. Through the resources of CSUF (DSS), personal support, and determination, I had one of the top GPAs in my major and now work in the industry I love.
